In 2000, Dipl.ing. Wigbert Funke founded FUNKE-Luchtbefeuchtungssysteme GmbH & Co. KG with the clear aim of fulfilling the highest hygienec requierements in laboratory areas. Since then, they have continued to develop and can now proudly count major international companies such as Bayer AG, Proctor & Gamble, BMW and SAP among their customers. In 2023, Marcus Funke also joined the company and is responsible for sales and marketing activities. Funke’s business portfolio includes a wide range of products, including the state-of-the-art Ceraspray hybrid humidifiers, adiabatic exhaust air humidifiers, mobile humidifiers units and efficient steam converters.

The project
Funke was looking for hydraulic spray nozzles which could integrate well with their Ceraspray-VARIO Humidifier system. The Ceraspray-VARIO humidifier system is an adiabatic humidification system which can control the humidity level up to 92% at low energy consumption.
After testing different types, Funke selected Ikeuchi’s KB nozzles due to their high quality, robustness and durability.

KB fine atomization spray nozzles
Our KB spray nozzles are equipped with a ceramic orifice which makes them highly resistant to corrosion, chemicals, high temperatures, and abrasion.
The solution
Funke has since then installed Ceraspray-Vario humidifiers in several customer facilities. Their most recent project was for the Bayer lab building and greenhouse project.
“Bayer Monheim already operates a large number of our humidifiers, especially in the research laboratories. But they are also used in offices and production facilities. The advantage of our Ceraspray humidifiers is that this type of humidification consumes much less energy than a steam humidifier, for example. In addition, our systems fulfill the hygiene requirements of the large corporations, as we only use purified water to which we do not add any chemicals or silver.”
The result
According to Funke, their customers are very satisfied with the humidity control provided by their Ceraspray-VARIO humidifiers.
