Spray nozzle solutions for the wire and felt process

The finishing and winding process in paper making are the final stages that prepare the paper for shipment to customers. These processes ensure the paper meets specific quality standards and is in the desired format for further use.

Highlights

Enhance the wire and felt process with high quality spray nozzle technology

Anti-foaming

The headbox is responsible for distributing the pulp slurry evenly across the width of the paper machine, which then forms the paper sheet. Foam in the headbox can cause various issues such as poor sheet formation, reduced paper strength, and defects in the final product. The suitable nozzle for this process is our AJP-PPS series. This nozzle provides the necessary aid to remove the foam produced due to the chemical processes from transforming the pulp into paper.

Maintenance of the headbox and chest

Maintaining the headbox in a paper machine is essential for ensuring consistent paper quality and optimal machine performance. It must be held clean of chemicals and other residues.  IKEUCHI provides the RJ tank cleaning solution for this. The RJ is known for its high cleaning performance at low pressure.

Washing the no-deckle board

The no-deckle board, also known as the headbox slice plate or headbox lip, plays a critical role in distributing the pulp slurry evenly across the width of the paper machine. Regular washing prevents buildup of fibers, fines, and other contaminants that can affect paper formation and quality. For this process the YYP series is recommended.

Constant wetting of pulp

As the pulp goes through the transformational process of changing into paper, the pulp requires a controlled quantity of constant wetting. This is important in order to maintaining consistency, preventing fiber damage, and ensuring uniform paper quality.  The K or J series are both optimal to be implemented for this task.

Cleaning the dandy roll

To remove the impurities and foreign particles that become attached to the dandy roll, wire, and felt, a powerful jet nozzle is suitable. The following nozzles can be added to this cleaning process:

Cleaning the doctor blade

Cleaning the doctor blade in a papermaking machine is crucial for maintaining the blade’s efficiency and the quality of the paper produced. The doctor blade scrapes excess pulp and contaminants from various machine parts, such as the drying cylinders and the press rolls, ensuring a smooth and clean surface for paper production. For the thorough cleaning of the doctor blade the VP series can be implemented:

Trimming

Trimming is the last process from the wire and felt part. It involves cutting the edges of the paper web to achieve the desired width and to remove any imperfections that may occur during the production process. For this process, we recommend nozzles with a long clear stream such as CM-FB and CTM series.  Thanks to their precise alumina ceramic orifice. They have a high precision which provide an accurate sharpness. Because of their sharpness, the paper dust spatters and nozzle clogging are reduced. The use of a high purity ceramic tip maintains a stable performance over a long period of time.
