Deodorization
Deodorization with atomization spray nozzles is an effective way to capture and eliminate odor molecules. This can be carried out with three different kinds of methods:
- A chemical is added to the atomization process which reacts with the odor compounds.
- Water droplets will bind to the odor molecules and neutralize them.
- The odor is masked with fragrance.
Chemical deodorization
Chemical deodorization is recommended in cases when when odors are strong and persistent or even toxic. These types of odors will need to be neutralized instead of covered up. For chemical deodorization we recommend to use atomization spray nozzles with a high chemical resistance. Materials such as ceramics and PP are known for their high chemical resistance compared to steel.
Water deodorization
Small water droplets have a large surface area which can collect odor molecules and neturalize them. Many odor-causing particles (like ammonia or sulfur compounds) are soluble in water. This is a simple, suistainable and low-cost solution when adding chemicals is unnecessary. For this type of solution, we recommend our kb spray nozzles which is a hydraulic nozzle with a small droplet size.
Fragrance deodorization
Fragrance deodorization can be a way to cover strong odors with more pleasant scents. However, it is also a method to add fragrance to products such as in a car wash or other cleaning application. For this application, we recommend a pneumatic spray nozzle with a very fine atomization such as the BIM-series.
