Press working lubrication
A manufacturer of press machines were designing a new model where they wished to avoid the roller method (where the lubricant comes into direct contact with the workpiece). The roller method can cause rapid wear, and instead they intended to adopt a non-contact spray nozzle system.

The solution
Firstly, we selected a single-fluid nozzle that minimises lubricant spray. As no compressed air is required for atomisation, running costs are kept to a minimum.
Next, from among the fan-shaped nozzles with a wide, flat spray pattern, we proposed the ‘SO-V Series’, which allows the spray to be switched on and off using pilot air. This prevents dripping.
Furthermore, by selecting the model with the lowest spray volume in the series, we limited the spray volume per nozzle to just 2 cc/second.
The result
As the system met all the customer’s requirements, it was selected for installation in the next generation of press machines. The solution has led to a significant amount of lubricant savings as well as more durable press machines.
