Swan lake
The Schwanenteich (Swan pond) in Mühlhausen, Thuringia, is a popular local recreation area on the outskirts of the town. It features a picturesque pond, an outdoor swimming pool, as well as an adjacent campsite with holiday cabins.
In 2024, Mr. Schreier from the fountain and irrigation system company, Brunnenmeisterei, was asked to work on an art project for this area, together with the artist, Gisbert Baarmann. The project involved four different kinds of fish crafted from wood and spraying water. TCW Anlagenbau has a lot of experience with water fountains and water landscape projects, and was asked to manage the spray nozzle selection and installation.

Project outline
The German artist, Gisbert Baarmann, is known for “Ring for peace” – a ring made from 36 piece of wood from all over the world – as well as many other art pieces and park installations made from wood. He carved out all the beautiful fish in wood.
TCW Anlagenbau was responsible for the water spraying function. They decided to use Ikeuchi KB nozzles in different sizes because of quality and a big spread of water sizes. In this project, they found the KB 80 22 to be the best option for outdoor purposes, thinking of wind and a good optical fog impression.
The company, Brunnenmeisterei, managed the overall project and made sure that the art and technology came together into each unique fish sculpture.

The result
The project took around 2 years to complete, and now the fish in the public swimming pool in Mühlhausen are ready for action. The result is great as you can see on the photos. There are different fish such as pike and flounder, and also the famous puffer fish, eaten in Japan.
