Cooling of flammable material

The High-Pressure Gas Safety Act stipulates that the storage temperature of containers must be kept at 40°C or below. An LPG Filling Station in Japan was experiencing issues with high temperatures during summer-time and was looking for a cooling solution.

The BIMV pneumatic spray nozzle is ideal for lubrication purposes disinfection purposes due to its ultra-fine atomization.

The solution

To solve this problem, a total of 400 nozzles were installed to cover a work area of approximately 2,000 square metres. They were mounted on spray headers at 50-centimetre intervals and designed to spray directly downwards from a height of 3 metres, ensuring the mist is distributed evenly throughout the entire area.

The result

The benefits of the cooling system extend beyond maintaining the storage temperature of the LP containers below 40°C. It also benefitted in a better working environment for the employees at the working station. In addition, it resulted in less manual labour as the workers previously had to spray tap water to keep the LP containers cool.
