A wastewater treatment facility was experiencing issues with clogging spray nozzles during odor control spraying sessions. The WWTP used spray nozzles to apply deodorizing agents at the raw-water, flow-equalization, and aeration tanks in order to suppress odors. However, the chemical frequently clogged the nozzles, disrupting operations. This led the customer to seek clog-resistant nozzles and an effective solution.

Our AJP nozzle has a no-whirler design with a large free passage diameter in order to minimize clogging.
The solution
After consulting with Ikeuchi, the WWTP decided to install the clog-resistant AJP nozzles in PPS material. AJP has an L-shaped structure in which liquid entering from the horizontal direction strikes the inner wall surface and is then sprayed vertically downward. Since it contains no internal atomizing components, it secures a large free passage diameter, minimizing the risk of clogging.
The result
After replacing all odor control nozzles with AJP, the WWTP no longer experienced any issues with clogging. This also resulted in fewer operation disruptions leading to an increase in productivity for the plant.
