The right humidity level for each industry
What is the needed humidity level per industry?
Several industries can benefit from humidification and temperature control. The optimal temperature and humidity level varies depending on the type of industry and the target.
Optimal indication of temperature and humidity per industry
The targets which can benefit the most of humidification control are:
- Printing factories
- Museums and libraries
- Precision equipment manufacturing
- Food and beverage factories or storage
Cabbage, radish, carrot, spinach, strawberry
Vegetables contain around 90% of water. If 5% is lost, the commercial value is also lost.
This is why it is necessary to maintain low temperature and high humidity in order to suppress the evaporation of water.
If you set a high temperature and high humidity, there is a risk of microbes growing and causing the vegetable to rot.
Meat, fresh fish, cheese
Meat and fish contain about 75% of moisture, and if the surface becomes dry it may become discolored or cause deterioration (growing bacteria).
It is important to prevent water evaporation from the surface to maintain the quality of the products.
Depending on the cultivation process, the most suitable environment is different.
It is necessary to create a suitable greenhouse environment for each process.
Here is an example for each step:
Museums and libraries
It is necessary to adjust the temperature and humidity and create a preservation environment in order for the items and books on display to not be altered or deformed.
Paper also contains around 5-7% moisture.
Humidity control is also necessary to reduce the expansion and contraction of paper due to the evaporation of water.
In addition, humidity helps to prevent static electricity that causes paper jams.
If the humidity is too high, condensation may occur to cause a short circuit.
If the humidity is too low, static electricity may be generated, which may lead to shutdown or damage to the electronic device.
Humidity control is also required to maintain the functions of precision instruments.
