How to Properly Flush Your AKIMist®“E” Before a Production Break

Is your production taking a longer break, for example during the holiday season? Then remember to flush your AKIMist.

During extended production breaks, such as the holiday season, it’s crucial to properly prepare your AKIMist®“E” Dry Fog Humidifier for idle periods to prevent the buildup of impurities that could compromise its functionality upon reactivation. Flushing the water line with purified water is an essential step in ensuring the system remains free of contaminants. Here’s a step-by-step guide to effectively flush your AKIMist®“E” before a production break:

Procedure


 

AKIMist system flushing

  1. Valve Closure:

    Begin by closing all valves (A – F) connected to the AKIMist®“E” system.

  2. Water Treatment System Check:

    Confirm that the water treatment system is ready to supply purified water and is properly connected to the water line.

  3. Valve C Opening:

    Open valve C while keeping valves A, B, D, E, and F closed.

  4. Drain Valve Opening:

    Open drain valve D and position a container to collect any foreign objects that might be purged from the line.

  5. Flushing Process:

    Flush each water line for 5 – 15 minutes or until no more foreign objects are purged.

  6. Drain Valve Closure:

    After flushing, close drain valve D only. Ensure this is done for each water line individually.

  7. Water Plug Preparation:

    Prepare a water plug and securely insert it into the socket of the installation kit until it audibly clicks into place.

  8. Blue Valve Opening:

    Open the blue valve of the installation kit and flush the line for 5 – 15 minutes or until no more foreign objects are purged.

  9. Blue Valve Closure:

    After flushing, close the blue valve and detach the water plug. Repeat this step for all other installation kits in the water line.

  10. Valve C Closure:

    After flushing all lines, close valve C.

  11. Valve Closure Check:

    Ensure all valves are closed properly.

  12. Residual Air and Water Discharge:

    Open drain valves D and E to discharge any residual air and water left in the pipes.
